PLAYOFF BASEBALL: MONTROSE SEASON ENDS WITH SEMIFINAL LOSS TO DUNMORE (2025-05-22)

SusCo Sports Report
DUNMORE - Montrose traveled to Schautz Stadium Thursday afternoon to face the number one seeded Dunmore Bucks in the District II AAA semifinal. The Meteors struggled to find their offense as they fell 15-0 in four innings.

Dunmore starter Max Forgione frustrated the Montrose hitters throughout the game, allowing just three hits and a walk.

The Meteors got a leadoff single from Adam Sorensen, before Lukas Cokely drew a one out walk. However Montrose failed to score in what was their biggest SCORING threat of the ball game.

The Bucks took control in the bottom of the first, taking advantage of a pair of Montrose miscues on defense and belting a homer and a double along the way for the 5-0 lead.

Dunmore tacked on another run in the second and then used a nine run fourth inning to end the game under mercy rule 15-0.

Sorensen started on the bump and lasted three and two-thirds. He allowed 10 runs - eight earned on four hits and seven walks, while striking out six.

Chase Harman came on in relief, but didn't record an out, allowing five runs, on three hits and three walks.

Sorensen had a pair of hits, Chris McGee added the other. Cokely was the only other baserunner, reaching via the walk in the first inning.

It marks the end of a successful season for Coach Winn and his program. Despite injuries to a few of his core players, especially from the mound, Montrose still rattled off 12 wins, including a playoff win this season.
