SusCo Sports Report
KINGSTON - Mountain View kicked off their defense of the PIAA District II AA crown as the five seed, playing against fourth seeded Wyoming Seminary. Seven innings wasn't enough to decide it as the Blue Knights won 8-7 in extra innings.

The Eagles played solid defense throughout the game as the Blue Knights only scored in two of their eight at bats, however they scored seven runs in the second.

Ziggy Bradford led the game off with a single, before Josh Miller drove him home with a single of his own two batters later, putting the Eagles up 1-0 early.

Mountain View starting pitcher Jordan Jagger worked around a couple free passes to keep the Blue Knights off the board in the first.

However the bottom of the second Seminary exploded for seven runs, using five hits and three free passes to plate their runs.

The Eagles immediately responded with a four run uprising of their own. Bradford started the rally with a walk, and later scored on an error off the bat of Jackson Gesford.

Miller reached on an error as well, scoring Gesford. Tanner Holtsmaster smashed a double into left field to score Miller.

Hudson Bain ripped on 0-2 pitch into right field for a RBI single as Holtmaster came around to score, trimming the Blue Knights lead to just two at 7-5.

Jagger got his team back on the offensive side quickly, needing just five pitches, working a perfect inning in the bottom of the third.

Bradford and Gesford each drew a walk to start the top of the fourth. Bradford scored his third run of the ball game, this time on an error off the bat of Miller.

Bain brought Holtsmaster in with a game tying two out single to centerfield as the Eagles came back from down six runs to tie it at seven.

Bain pitched around singles in the fourth and fifth innings, then in the sixth with one on and one out they intentionally walked two batters to load the bases.

Jagger handled the pressure well and the Eagles defense executed a 6-2 fielder's choice for the second out, before Jagger induced a pop fly to Bradford in center, ending the threat.

Neither team threatened in the seventh inning. In the top of the eighth the Eagles put two guys on, but failed to score as they were caught stealing to end the inning.

In the bottom of the eighth the Blue Knights pushed across a run without an out, to get the walk off 8-7 victory, advancing to the AA semifinals.

Jagger received a no decision for his six innings of work. He allowed seven runs, on eight hits and five walks, while striking out six.

Bain came on in relief and was saddled with the loss. He pitched an inning plus, allowing one run, on one hit and three walks, while fanning a batter.

Holtsmaster and Bain each had a pair of hits, with Holtmaster connecting for a RBI double and scoring a pair of runs. While Bain drove in a pair with two singles.

Bradford had a single and crossed home plate three times, while Miller had a single, scored a run and drove in another. Gesford drew a pair of walks and scored once.

Mountain View turned in a solid campaign in 2025, finishing 12-9 overall and narrowly missing a trip to the semifinals, despite losing some key players from last year's district championship team.
