BASEBALL: ADAM SORENSEN TOSSES 72 PITCH COMPLETE GAME AS MONTROSE BEATS CARBONDALE 7-1 (2025-05-12)

MONTROSE - Adam Sorensen tossed an ultra efficient 72 pitch complete game gem, as Montrose  clinched a winning season with their 7-1 victory over Carbondale on senior night. 

Sorensen surrendered just a first inning run, allowing two of the Chargers three hits in the opening frame.

After the first Sorensen pitched masterfully, allowing just one hit over his final six innings of work to get the win, while striking out six batters.

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, senior Chris McGee gave the Meteors the lead for good, scoring Kasey Carey and Lukas Cokely with a single.

The Meteors got consecutive walks from Hudson Aukema, McGee and Andrew Brown, loading the bases with one out in the third, before Chase Harman knocked in a a pair with a single to make it 4-1.

McGee was again part of the action, leading off the bottom of the fifth with a single and later scoring on a single off the bat of Jeremy Henry.

The Meteors took advantage of a pair of Charger errors in the sixth, pushing across two more runs, highlighted by a RBI single from Cokely, as the Meteors increased their lead to 7-1.

Sorensen retired Carbondale in order in the seventh, striking out the final two batters of the game, as the Meteors win their tenth game for the season with a final score of 7-1.

Montrose totaled seven hits, with McGee leading the way with a pair of singles to go with a pair of RBIs and two runs scored.

Cokely had a single, scored twice and drove one in, while Sorensen and Carey each had a hit and scored a run.

Chase Harman had a hit to go with a pair of RBIs, while Henry had a pinch hit RBI single and Aukema scored a run.
