BASEBALL: JACKSON GESFORD'S THREE HIT PERFORMANCE HELPS MOUNTAIN VIEW DEFEAT FOREST CITY 8-3 (2025-05-08)

KINGSLEY - The two teams combined for 10 of the 11 runs in the first two innings, with Mountain View tallying seven. Jackson Gesford notched three hits and pitched a scoreless seventh as the Eagles defeated Forest City 8-3 Thursday evening.

Mountain View starter Josh Miller got off to a rocky start, surrendering three hits and three free passes, as the Foresters scored three runs in the first.

The Eagles took advantage of a couple Forest City errors and used singles from Ziggy Bradford and Jordan Jagger to score three runs of their own to tie it at three after one.

Miller settled down and worked around a leadoff single in the second, assisted by a smooth 4-6-3 double play from the middle infielders.

Gesford and Tanner Holtsmaster each cracked a double, while Bradford, Bain and Jeremiah Tweed singled, as the Eagles pushed acrossed four runs in the second inning.

The score remained the same until Mountain View tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.

Gesford led it off with a single and later scored on a two out single from Jagger to make it 8-3.

Gesford worked a scoreless seventh as the Eagles turned their third double play of the game, this time it was a 6-4-3 double play.

Miller pitched the first three innings, he allowed three runs on five hits and a walk, to go with a pair of strikeouts.

Bain worked the next three innings, striking out three and walking a pair. Gesford gave up a hit in the seventh inning.

Gesford (3-3) led the Eagles 12 hit attack, he had a double to go with a pair of RBI's and two runs scored.

Bradford (2-4) had a couple singles and scored a pair of runs, while Jagger (2-4) drove in three runs.

Holtmaster (2-4) had a RBI double, while Bain (2-3) also had a multi hit game. Tweed (1-3) had the other hit.

Miller scored a pair of runs and drove another one in, while Aidan McCloskey crossed home safely once.
