WYALUSING - The Elk Lake Warriors had a good showing at the annual Lasagna Invitational held at Wyalusing Valley High School. The event boasts 27 teams and over 800 athletes, making it a very competitive invitational.
The Warriors continued their domination of the distance runs, as Kendel Jones took home gold in the 3200 meter run, finishing in nine minutes 33.63 seconds.
Teammates Cody Adams (9:44.80) and Parker Upright (10:00.82) finished in second and seventh places respectively.
The Warriors also placed well in the 4X400 Meter Relay and the 4X800 Meter Relay.
The 4x800 Relay quartet of Whalen Kinney, Jones, Adams and Upright took home a silver medal, finishing just over a second behind the first place team in eight minutes 23.88 seconds.
The foursome of Brent Drost, Upright, Adams and Jones took home a bronze in the 4X400 Relay with a time of three minutes 47.70 seconds.
Gianna Tewksbury had a great day for the Lady Warriors, the senior won the Discus with a throw of 116 feet even.
She then finished third in the shot put throwing 34 feet one inch. Teammate and fellow senior Katie McGlynn took silver in the shot put with a toss of 34 feet 10.5 inches.
Freshman Kendyl Weisgold took home an impressive third place in the 3200 Meter Run, crossing the finish line at 11 minutes 36.70 seconds.
Weisgold teamed up with Erica McGlynn, Kylee Pond and Madi Kerr to bring home a silver medal in the 4X800 Meter Relay. The quartet finished behind only Towanda with a time of 10 minutes 33.12 seconds.
