FOREST CITY - Montrose scored 15 runs in the first four innings as they rolled to a 15-4 five inning victory over Forest City Friday evening. The Meteors pounded out 11 hits and drew nine walks as they had traffic on the bases all night.
Montrose scored a pair of runs with two outs in the first as Kasey Carey and Cj McGee each had a hit in the frame.
Montrose used five walks and three hits to score seven more runs in the second. Then they used three walks and a pair of hits to score three more in the third for the commanding 12-0 lead.
Forest City got on the board in the bottom of the third with a sacrifice fly.
Montrose plated three more runs in the fourth on three hits and a par of free passes.
The Foresters needed to score five runs in the bottom of the fifth to extend the game, but they scored only three, giving the Meteors the 15-4 road victory.
Hudson Aukema fanned four batters in his three innings of work to get the win. He allowed an unearned run on three walks.
Adam Sorensen pitched the final two innings, striking out four. He surrendered three runs, on four hits and two walks.
McGee (3-3) and Cokely (2-4) each had a multi hit game for the Meteors, with each of them driving in a pair of runs. Cokely scored four times and McGee scored three.
Chase Harman (1-1) finished with four RBI and three walks. Lincoln Brander (1-3) had a pair of RBI's and scored a run.
Aukema (1-5) scored a pair of runs and drove one in, while Carey (1-3) had a RBI and Andrew Brown (1-1) scored a run.
Sorensen had the other Montose hit, as Evan McComb, Alex Stoddard and Keaton Kildare each scored a run and Kildare and Jeremy Henry each had a RBI.
