SOFTBALL: MARISSA HORN DOMINATES IN THE CIRCLE & SMASHES HOMER AS ELK LAKE BEATS SUSQUEHANNA (2025-04-21)

SUSQUEHANNA - Marissa Horn struck out 15 Lady Sabers Monday evening as she continues to dominant in the circle for the Lady Warriors. Elk Lake used a six run sixth inning to pull away for the 10-2 win over Susquehanna.

Horn earned the victory allowing just one hit and three walks, while striking out 15 in her seven innings of work.

Susquehanna struck first, scoring a pair of runs without a hit in the second. Meghan Perry and Brooke Collins reached via an error to start the inning.

Gianna Creamer walked with the bases loaded to score Perry, then Collins scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 Lady Sabers.

Horn led off the top of the third with a towering homer run over the centerfield fence to get her team on the board.

The Lady Warriors would take the lead in the top of the fourth. Maddie Ely led ofF with a bunt single, she was sacrificeD to second on a bunt by Taylor Traver.

Lydia Howell delivered a clutch two out single to get Ely home and tie things up at two.

Burke came in to courtesy run for L. Howell and would later come around to scored on a throwing error that also scored Hannah Howell.

The score remained the same until the Lady Warriors exploded for six runs in the sixth. Celeste Clark started it with a single, L. Howell reached on an error.

H. Howell laid down a sacrifice bunt, with Burke and Clark each scoring after an error on the play.

Horn was hit by a pitch, Leah Traver and Brynn Warriner walked to load the bases, before Aleece Greenely cleared the bases with a double and later scored on an Ely groudout to make it 10-2.

Horn worked a perfect sixth and seventh inning to secure the 10-2 win on the road for the Lady Warriors.

Greenley has been a RBI machine as of late, delivered again with a team high three runs driven in, with a double and a run scored.

Horn had a home run to drive in a run and score one. Ely had a single, scored a run and drove one in. L. Traver and Clark each had a hit and scored a run.

L. Howell had a RBI single, H. Howell drove in a run and scored one, while Warriner scored once.

Jordyn Oney-Roth had the only hit for Susquehanna, while Perry and Collins scored the runs.

Lauren Huyck struck out a pair in her seven innings of work. She allowed 10 runs - six earned on six hits and five walks.
