MONTROSE - Elk Lake poured across 17 runs against Montrose Thursday afternoon, after hanging 18 on Carbondale last night. The Lady Warriors took advantage of 12 walks, scoring 17 runs on just nine hits for the 17-4 win over the Lady Meteors.
Elk Lake used a huge eight run inning in the top of the first, with Aleece Greenley getting the first three runs home with an inside the park home run.
Elk Lake added two more in the second and three in the third to jump out to the commanding 13-0 lead.
Montrose finally pushed a pair of runs across in the bottom of the third making it 13-2.
Elk Lake would answer with four runs in the top of the fourth. Marissa Horn, Leah Traver and Brynn Warriner smacked back to back to back doubles in the frame.
MycKenna Kublo doubled home Kyleise Kubloe and Cara Evans in the bottom half of the fourth to make it 17-4.
Both teams would go scoreless in the fifth, ending the game under mercy rule, with Elk Lake taking the 17-4 league win.
Greenley fueled the Lady Warriors offense slugging a home run and a double, driving in five runs and scoring three.
Horn and Warriner each had a pair of hits with double and drove in a run apiece, Warriner also scored twice.
Traver drove in a pair of runs with a double and scored two runs. Lydia Howell had a RBI single, while Maddie Ely singled and scored a pair of runs.
Erin Burke drew three walks to drive in a pair of runs and score once. Hannah Howell walked twice and scored twice. Celeste Clark drove in a run and scored one.
Horn tossed all five innings for the Lady Warriors, striking out nine. She allowed four runs - three earned on five hits and four walks.
Kublo had a pair of hits, including a double to drive in a pair of runs. Violet Conning had an RBI triple and scored a run.
Kublo and Evans each had a single, K. Kublo scored twice and Evans crossed home once.
Jocelyn Traver started in the circle, but lasted only an inning. She allowed eight runs - three earned on two hits and four walks.
Allison Jennings went the next three innings, surrendering nine runs - eight earned on six hits and eight walks, with one strikeout.
Lauren Legg worked the final inning, giving up a hit while striking out a batter.
