SOFTBALL: HAILEY CARPENETTI'S STRONG NIGHT AT THE PLATE LEADS BLUE RIDGE TO VICTORY (2025-04-16)

HALSTEAD - Blue Ridge scored 11 runs in the first three innings against Forest City Wednesday afternoon. Their offense would go quietly in their final three at-bats, but the Lady Raiders held on for the 11-7 victory.

Blue Ridge collected nine hits in the game, with Hailey Carpenetti, Trista Laude and Liberty Post each tallying a pair of hits.

Carpenetti stroked a double and a triple, while scoring three runs and driving one in. Laude drove in a pair and scored once.

Peyton Rutter smacked a double to drive in two runs. Emma Piechocki singled, scored a run and had a RBI. 

Mel Bloomer scored twice and drove a run in. Hailey Champang drew three walks and scored twice. Bella Shea had a hit and Cheyanne Kuiper scored a run.

Laude went the distance in the circle, striking out three Lady Foresters. She allowed seven runs on nine hits and five walks.

Forest City struck first with a pair of runs in the first, but the Lady Raiders answered with three runs in the bottom half as Carpenetti led it off with a double.

Blue Ridge took control of the game on the bottom of the second, highlighted by a Carpenetti triple and a Rutter double.

The Lady Foresters cut their lead to three with a pair of runs in the top of the third, however the Lady Raiders responded with three runs of their own.

Blue Ridge scored all three runs with two outs, taking advantage of a pair of Forest City miscues and a big hit from Laude.

The Lady Foresters got a pair of runs in the the fourth to make it 11-7, but that would be the final as neither team scored in the final three innings.
