KINGSLEY - Elk Lake plated 10 runs in a huge fourth inning to blow up a once tight game on their way to a 16-2 five inning win over Mountain View in league action Friday evening.
The Lady Warriors scored an unearned run in the first, when Leah Traver reached on an error and later scored on a single off the bat of Aleece Greenley.
Mountain View loaded the bases with a single and a pair of walks, but Elk Lake starter Marissa Horn got out of the jam with an inning ending strikeout.
Celeste Clark and Lydia Howell each drew a walk in the second. Horn would drive them both in with a single to put the Lady Warriors up 3-0.
Mimi Sedlak walked to start the bottom of the second, followed by Emily Tichilo getting drilled with a pitch to put two runners on.
With runners on second and third and nobody out, Horn looked to dance out of trouble registering back to back strikeouts.
However Addison Kilmer and Keeley Flynn delivered back to back hits driving in a run apiece and cutting the Lady Warriors lead to just one at 3-2.
In the fourth inning Jocelyn Youells reached on an error to start things off, L. Howell laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to advance pinch runner Taylor Traver to third.
Hannah Howell followed with a beautiful bunt single to score T. Traver. After a Horn walk, L Traver scored H. Howell on a fielder's choice.
Greenley cracked a double, scoring Traver and Brynn Warriner who reached via the walk. Clark plated two more Lady Warriors with a double.
T. Traver scored Clark with a triple to left, L. Howell brought her home with a single. After H. Howell walked, Horn brought the Howell sisters home with a double to cap off the big inning.
The Eagles went scoreless in the bottom of the fourth, before the Lady Warriors tacked on three more in the fifth.
Horn worked a perfect bottom of the fifth inning to secure the 16-2 mercy rule victory in five innings.
Horn tossed 90 pitches in five innings, giving up two runs - one earned on three hits, four walks and 10 strikeouts.
Christina Denney got the loss, she pitched five innings, giving up 16 runs - four earned on 13 hits and six walks, while striking out a batter.
Greenley had three hits to lead the 13 hit Lady Warrior attack. Horn and Maddie Ely each had two hits.
T. Traver, L. Traver, Warriner, Clark, L. Howell and H. Howell each had a hit.
Horn and Greenley led the team, driving in four runs apiece. Clark drove in three runs, T. Traver drove in a pair, while L Traver, L. Howell and H. Howell each drove in a run.
T. Traver, Greenley, Ely, Clark, Piper Keeney and H. Howell each scored a pair of runs. L. Traver, Warriner, L. Howell and Erin Burke each scored a run for the Lady Warriors.
Denney, Kilmer and Flynn each had a hit for Mountain View. Kilmer and Flynn each drove in a run, Sedlak and Trichilo scored a run apiece.
