CARBONDALE - The Sabers bounced back from a loss on Thursday, by pounding out 15 hits and scoring 24 runs in a blowout, four inning win over Carbondale on Friday evening.
Matt Callender went the distance for the Sabers, tossing four innings. He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk to go with six strikeouts.
William Marcy, Travis Rooney and Callender each had three hits. The trio also drove in six, five and four runs respectively. Marcy also scored four runs, while Callender scored two and Rooney scored once.
Liam Albert notched a pair of hits, while driving in four runs and scoring three times.
Caedon Stone, Alex Krayeski, Nate Oropallo and Gabe Maby each had a hit. Maby drove in a pair of runs, he and Stone each scored three runs. Krayeski and Oropallo both scored a run and drove one in.
Drew Hennessey scored three runs and Parker Overbaugh scored two runs, they each drew a pair of walks as well.
Marcy reached on an error to start the game. He would later score one a Rooney single to make it 1-0. The Chargers scored a run of their own in the bottom of the inning to tie it.
The Sabers exploded for 13 runsin the second, using six hits and seven free passes in the inning. Taking advantage of three Chargers errors in the inning.
Susquehanna would tack on 10 more runs in the top of the fourth to get the 24-2 mercy rule victory.
With the win the Sabers are now 3-5 on the season, they will host Forest City on Monday.
