MYRTLE BEACH - Isaac Gesford an Elk Lake graduate and member of the Ursinus College baseball team kicked off their week in Myrtle Beach at Ripken Baseball with a pair off doubleheader victories Saturday.
Ursinus swept the doubleheader against Bridgewater State University, winning the first game 10-8. In the night cap the Bears rolled to the 12-0 victory.
The freshman Gesford recorded his first collegiate RBI in the sixth inning of the night cap, reaching on a throwing error. Allowing teammate Tyler Dinan to score to put the Bears up 12-0.
Gesford is hitless in seven at bats on the season, the freshman has made a pair of starts for the Bears, who have an overall record of 6-3.
Appearing in three of the nine games, Gesford's has made every play that has come his way, boasting a fielding percentage of 1.000.
Ursinus will be in Myrtle til Saturday, with six more games slated at the beautiful Ripken Complex.
