SWIMMING: ELK LAKE SWIMMERS HEAD TO THE DISTRICT MEET TODAY AND TOMORROW (2025-02-28)

The Elk Lake Warriors swim team will head to the pool at the Wilkes-Barre area High School to compete in the District II AA swimming championships beginning at 11:00 today. 

The Lady Warriors just completed their best season in program history, capturing their first Lackawanna League title in program history, snapping Scranton Preps 70 plus meet win streak along the way.

Elk Lake head coach Miguel Echevarria is proud of the work both his boys and girls teams have put in the season and hopes they continue to swim well at districts.

There will be six events today and five more tomorrow, with the swimming starting again at 11:00 Saturday Morning. 

Today's events will be in this order the 200 Medley Relay, 200 free, 200 IM, 50 Free, 100 Fly and the 200 free relay.

Saturday's event lineup will be 100 Free, 500 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast and the 400 Relay will be the final event of the weekend on the AA side.

The top six swimmers in each event will be presented with a medal, but only the top finishing individual or relay team in their respective event will advance to the PIAA state meet.
