GIRLS BASKETBALL: BLUE RIDGE FALLS TO WYOMING SEMINARY IN QUARTERFINALS (2025-02-18)

FORTY FORT - The Lady Raiders took on Wyoming Seminary in the quarterfinal round of the PIAA District II playoffs Tuesday night. Blue Ridge hung around, but Seminary pulled away midway through the third quarter to defeat the Lady Raiders 58-23.

Abi Gelinger buried a three pointer and hit a pair of field goals, tallying all of the points for Blue Ridge in the first. After eight minutes of play they trailed 11-7.

Blue Ridge was outscored 13-5 in the second quarter. Gelinger hit a bucket and a pair at the line, Lynndee Barbour added a free throw. At halftime they were down 24-12.

Barbour knocked down a shot from behind the arc and was a perfect two for two at the foul line, totaling all of the points for the Lady Raiders. As their deficit grew to 24 points after three.

Barbour and Payton Perrington each notched a two pointer in the fourth quarter, Mel Bloomer made two of two at the stripe.

When the final horn sounded it was the Lady Blue Knights defeating the Lady Raiders 58-23. Blue Ridge ends the season with an overall record of 9-14, coach Mike Courtright will return plenty of talent next season. 

Gelinger lead the Raiders with 11 points, Barbour tallied five, Bloomer and Perrington each had a pair.
