GIRLS BASKETBALL: GIRLS QUARTERFINAL ROUND STARTS TOMORROW (2025-02-17)

It's playoff time in district II with girls basketball quarterfinals tomorrow evening and the boys kicking off Wednesday. The quest for chocolate town begins Friday night for the wrestlers at Wilkes Barre Area High School. Wrestling will continue on Saturday, and the district diving championships will be held at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.

Here is a look at the quarterfinal matchups for the girls, with all games taking place on Tuesday, Feb. 18

GIRLS BASKETBALL AA QUARTERFINALS
6:30-(#8)Forest City @ (#1)Elk Lake- The Lady Warriors host the Lady Foresters in the quarterfinal round. Elk Lake won both matchups handily this season during league play. If they are victorious for a third time they will play in the AA semi-final on Friday at home against the winner of the (#5)Old Forge @ (#4)Holy Cross game.

7:00-(#7)Lackawanna Trail @ (#2)Mountain View- The Lady Eagles will host the Lady Lions in the opening round. Mountain View won both games this season by 30 plus points as the look to advance to the semi-final round, where they would host the winner of the (#6)Blue Ridge @ (#3)Wyoming Seminary game.

6:00-(#6)Blue Ridge @ (#3)Wyoming Seminary- The Lady Raiders hit the road to play the higher seeded Seminary team. Blue Ridge comes into the game on a three game win streak as they look to pull of the upset. If they're are successful they would advance to the semi-finals Friday night to play the winner of (#7)Lackawanna Trail @ (#2)Mountain View.

GIRLS BASKETBALL AAA QUARTERFINALS
6:00-(#5)Montrose @ (#4)Riverside- The Lady Meteors dropped a tight 56-53 decision to the Riverside back on Dec. 18. The young Montrose squad has gained valuable experience since that game, winning 11 of their final 17 games after the 0-5 start. The (#1) Dunmore team awaits the winner, receiving a first round bye.
