ABINGTON - Montrose Post 154 Senior Legion broke open a one run game with a five run fifth inning. They would tack on another run in the seventh on their way to the 10-3 road victory over Abington Post 948.

The Mountaineers pounded out 11 hits on the evening, with the highlight being Patrick McComb collecting his 50th career hit for Montrose Post 154.

Gehrig Dibble started on the mound, striking out a pair in his three innings of work. He allowed two unearned runs, on three hits and five walks.

Jordan Jagger hurled the final four innings, fanning four batters. He gave up one run, on three hits and five walks.

Post 948 capitalized on a two out Mountaineer error, scoring a pair of unearned runs, taking a 2-0 lead after one.

Montrose used singles by Mark Hawk and McComb along with a two out error on Abington to score a trio of runs in the top of the third to take a one run lead.

The Mountaineers tacked on another run in the fourth, when Travis Rooney led off with a single and later scored on a triple from Jagger.

Post 948 took advantage of three walks, scoring a run in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 4-3 ball game.

The score remained the same until the Mountaineers used a five run uprising to break the game open in the top of the sixth.

Riley Jagger and McComb started the inning with back to back doubles, with Jagger scoring on McComb's shot to left.

Rooney plated McComb with a single. Chase Harman singled and Drew Hennessey walked, loading the bases.

Hawk drew the bases loaded walk for the easy RBI, then Will Marcy brought in a run with a sacrifice fly, before Dibble walked, forcing in the final run of the inning.

Montrose would tack on another run in the top of the seventh, before J. Jagger retired Post 948 in the bottom of the seventh as the Mountaineers improve to a 2-0 with the 10-3 win.

J. Jagger led the 11 hit parade with three hits, including a RBI triple. McComb had a pair of hits, with a double, to go with two RBI's and a run scored.

Rooney and Harman each had a pair of singles and drove in a run. Rooney scored twice, while Harman crossed home once.

R. Jagger had a double and scored a pair of runs, while Hawk had a single and a run driven in.

Hennessey scored a pair of runs, while Marcy and Dibble each reached home safely once.

Post 154 hits the road again tomorrow as they travel to Greenridge, with first pitch slated for 5:30.
