SusCo Sports Report
WILKES BARRE - Gehrig Dibble kept Blue Ridge close into the fourth inning, but Holy Redeemer pushed across a pair of runs in the fourth and added an insurance run in the fifth and sixth on their way to an 8-3 win over the Raiders in the quarterfinals.

Smith and Brendan Marvin each cracked a one out double, with Smith scoring the first run of the game. Marvin would later score on an error off the bat of Derrick as the Raiders jumped out 2-0.

The lead was short lived however, as the Royals used a walk, a hit and a Blue Ridge error to score a pair of their own, knotting the game at two apiece after one.

Holy Redeemer used the same recipe to score two more runs in the bottom of the third, taking their first lead of the game at 4-2.

The Raiders answered back with a run in the top of the fourth as Davis and Dibble each stroked a single in the frame, with Lord scoring the run, trimming the Royals lead to one.

Dibble got a quick out to start the fourth, but then walked the next two batters, before the Royals got a huge double from Quaglia, plating two runs for the 6-3 lead.

The Raiders could only muster one baserunner in the final three innings, as the Royals added a run in the fifth and sixth to earn the 8-3 opening round victory.
