SusCo Sports Report
SPRINGVILLE - The Elk Lake seniors tallied 10 of the Warriors 18 total hits Monday evening. A fitting tribute as they bid farewell to their seniors with a 14-4 victory over Forest City in their regular season home finale.
The Warriors have struggled to score runs as of late, but seemed to get back on track Monday, scoring runs in all five at bats in the mercy rule victory.
The Foresters used three singles to score a run in the top of the first, however the lead was short lived as the Warriors struck for a pair on five singles of their own.
Elk Lake took control of the game with three more in the second, as John Heitsman walked to start the uprising.
Heitsman scored on a single by Matthias Morris, then Braydon McMicken hit a two run bomb over the center field fence, putting his team up 5-1.
Forest City clawed back with three runs in the top of the third to make it a one run ball game, but the Warriors seemingly put it out of reach with five in the home half.
The Warriors added three more runs in the fourth, then ended the game scoring a run with nobody out in the fifth to make it 14-4, ending the game under mercy rule.

McMicken hurled the final two innings, striking out three and giving up just a hit.
