SOFTBALL: TRISTA LAUDE NOTCHES WIN IN CIRCLE AS BLUE RIDGE BEATS MOUNTAIN VIEW (2025-05-12)

HALSTEAD - Blue Ridge scored a trio of insurance runs in the fifth inning to break open a 5-4 ball game Monday evening. The Lady Raiders added another run in the sixth, defeating Mountain View 9-4.
The two teams combined for seven first inning runs, with Blue Ridge holding a 4-3 lead after one.
Abby Piechocki doubled home Trista Laude as the Lady Raiders added another run in the home half of the second.
The Lady Eagles made it a one run game, as Aubrey Sanders singled to start the fourth and later scored on a Paige Smith single.
Hailey Carpenetti started a three run rally with a triple leading off the bottom of the fifth. Peyton Rutter and Cheyanne Kuiper also singled in the frame.
Carpenetti singled home Emma Piechocki in the bottom of the sixth for the final run of the game as the Lady Raiders pick up the 9-4 victory.
Laude went the distance in the circle for the win, striking out four in the process. She allowed four runs, on eight hits and a walk.
Anabelle Bowman took the loss, striking out four in her six innings of work. She surrendered nine runs, on 10 hits and eight walks.
Carpenetti (2-3) had a triple to go with a pair of runs scored and a RBI. Hailey Champang (2-2) also scored two runs and drove one in.
Kuiper (2-3) notched the other multi hit game for the Lady Raiders, she also had a RBI. Mel Bloomer (1-3) had a double, drove in a pair and scored twice.
A. Piechocki (1-2), Rutter (1-2), and Malia Valentine (1-3) each drove a run in, while A. Piechocki also scored once.
Kassidy Canfield (2-3) had a pair of hits, including a double from the nine hole to lead the Lady Eagles eight hit attack.
Smith, Mimi Sedlak and Izzy Hobart each had a hit, with a run scored and a RBI, while Christina Denney had a hit and drove in a run.
Sanders had a single and scored a run, while Coralynn Henry had the other Mountain View hit.
