TRACK & FIELD: CARL NOLT, JAMIER ROBINSON, NICO CHRISTIAN & MAX KUWAYE SET SCHOOL RECORD IN 4X100 RELAY (2025-05-07)

SCRANTON - Montrose had a solid performance at the Robert Spagna Championship held at Scranton Memorial Stadium Wednesday evening. The boys 4x100 meter relay team shattered the school record by over a second, as the highlight of the event.
The old record was 44.53, but the quartet of Carl Holt, Jamier Robinson, Nico Christian and Maximus Kuwaye shaved nearly a half second off, crossing the line at 44.14 for the new Meteor record and placing third in the race.
The sophomore Kuwaye also took eighth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.85 and fifth in the long jump, with a leap of 20 feet and one half inch.
Junior N. Christian finished fifth in the 200 meter dash, turning in a time of 23.26 and fourth in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line at 52.32.
Senior Lorenzo Christian finished fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:06.74.
On the girls side, Sadie Jones took home fourth place in the 200 meter dash, with a time of 26.79.
Jones captured silver in the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, six and half inches, as well as
the javelin with a heave of 110 feet, seven inches.
Fellow sophomore Carly Frey finished fifth in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line at 1:02.27
Avery Kerr took fourth place in the 1600 meter run and ninth place in the 800 meter run with times of 5:25.73 and 2:28.28 respectively.
Addison Stephens came in ninth place in the 3200 meter run, turning in a time of 13:21.60.
Sophomore Molly Weller took tenth place in the 100 meter hurdles and eighth in the 300 hurdles with times of 18.11 and 51.04 respectively.
In the high jump freshman Kirsten Eschbach took tenth, clearing four feet six inches.
The Lady Meteors had three freshmen crack the top 10 in the discus. Erin Tillotson finished seventh with a toss of 89 feet, five inches, while Anna Tillotson was eighth at 89 feet, one inch and June McGee was tenth with a throw of 85 feet, seven inches.
A. Tillotson also brought home a fifth place finish in the shot put with a heave of 32 feet, seven inches.
The Lady Meteors 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Frey, Eschbach, Jones and Gracie Dalton claimed a bronze medal with a time of 44.14.
The foursome of Kerr, Weller, Dalton and Frey finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay, crossing the finish line at 4:18.52.
