SCRANTON - The Mountain View Track and Field team competed at the Robert Spagna Championships at Scranton Memorial Stadium Wednesday evening. It was a memorable night for several athletes as three Mountain View school records were shattered.

First Michael Beach broke the school record in the 1600 meter run. The senior finished fourth overall in the event, turning in a time of 4:34.14. Beach also finished 10th in the 3200 meter run, finishing in 10:19.66.

The next school record to fall was in triple jump, when Jacob Ficarro captured a silver medal, jumping a total of 42 feet nine inches. 

Ficarro had a solid performance in several other events, finishing eighth in the 200 meter dash in 23.56 and seventh in the long jump with a leap of 19'-8.25"

The final Mountain View record to fall was in the 4x100 relay. The foursome of Brooklyn Anderson, Demi Messner, Riley Turner and Rhys Evans finished eighth overall with a time of 52.37.

The sophomore Evans also brought home a tenth place finish in the 100 meter dash, crossing the line at 13.49.

Fellow sophomore Messner also took ninth place in the triple jump, clearing 33'-1.25" on her way to the top 10 finish.

Audrey Anderson finished 10th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:49.89. The girls 4x400 meter relay team also placed 10th, crossing the line at 4:34.04.
