SOFTBALL: LEAH TRAVER CLUBS A PAIR OF HOMERS, MARISSA HORN ADDS ANOTHER AS ELK LAKE ROLLS OVER SUSQUEHANNA (2025-05-05)

SPRINGVILLE - It was an extra base hit parade for Elk Lake at home against Susquehanna, as the Lady Warriors smacked seven extra base hits, including a pair of homers from Leah Traver and another from Marissa Horn as Elk Lake won 12-0 in five innings.
Traver crushed her first home run, a solo job with one out in the bottom of the first as the Lady Warriors took the early 1-0 lead.
Elk Lake exploded for seven more runs in the bottom of the second, as Traver smoked her second homer.
Marissa Horn, Brynn Warriner, Aleece Greenley and Maddy Ely all connected for doubles in the frame as well.
The Lady Warriors got a leadoff single from Lydia Howell in the top of the third, followed by a two run homer run from Horn to make it 10-0.
Traver got it started again with a one out single and later scored on an error off the bat of Greenley. M. Putterbaugh scored the final run of the evening on a single from Ely.
Susquehanna had their best scoring opportunity in the fifth, but a double play ended the threat and the game as the Lady Warriors win their thirteenth game of the season by a final of 10-0.
Horn notched the win in the circle, striking out eight in her five innings of work, allowing just a hit and a walk.
Lauren Huyck went the distance for the Lady Sabers. She allowed 12 runs - 10 earned on 13 hits and two walks.
Traver (3-3) mashed a pair of homers, driving in three runs and scoring three more. Horn (2-4) also clubbed a homer, finishing with four RBI and a run scored.
Greenley (2-3) and Ely (2-3) each had a double, two RBI's and a run scored. L. Howell (2-3) also notched a multi hit game for the Lady Warriors.
Warriner (1-2) had a double and scored a run, while H. Howell (1-3) scored a pair of runs.
Huyck had the only hit for the Lady Sabers, Jordyn Oney-Roth also drew a walk for the other Susquehanna baserunner.
