SOFTBALL: KYLEISE KUBLO CRUSHES HOMER AND DRIVES IN FOUR RUNS AS MONTROSE ROLLS OVER MOUNTAIN VIEW (2025-05-01)

KINGSLEY - Montrose scored nine runs in the first inning and pounded out 18 hits to go with 10 walks in their 19-4 five inning victory over Mountain View on Wednesday evening.
The Lady Eagles recognized their seniors before the start of the game, but it was all Montrose after that.
The Lady Meteors tallied seven hits and drew four walks in their nine run first inning.
Mountain View answered with a trio of runs on the bottom half, using three hits and a walk to score their runs.
Jocelyn Traver singled and Cara Evans belted a triple, as Montrose plated three more runs in the second, making it 12-2.
The Lady Meteors added a pair to the scoreboard in the third, registering three more hits in the frame.
Mountain View scored a run in the bottom of the third, but the Lady Meteors executed the 6-3-5 double play to end the threat with the score 14-4.
Traver singled to leadoff the fourth, then freshman Kyleise Kublo crushed a home run over the left centerfield fence to give her team a 16-4 lead.
Montrose pounded out four more hits in the top of the fifth, scoring three runs to get the 19-4 mercy rule win.
Traver notched the win in the circle, striking out four in her five innings of work. She allowed four runs - one earned on five hits and four walks.
Christina Denney hurled the first four innings for Mountain View. She surrendered 16 runs on 14 hits and nine walks.
Gianna Gravine pitched the final inning, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk.
Evans, MycKenna Kublo, Violet Conning and Rori Gurn each had three hits and three RBI's. Evans also had a pair of doubles and a triple, while Conning had a double as well.
Gurn crossed home three times, Evans and M. Kublo each twice and Conning once.
K. Kublo (2-4) blasted a home run and drove in four runs, while scoring three times. Traver (2-4) also scored three times and drove a run in.
Alyse Legg (1-3) scored twice and had a RBI, while Allison Jennings (1-3) also scored a run. Welch scored a pair of runs and drove one in.
Mimi Sedlak and Cora McHenry each had a pair of hits, Sedlak scored a run, while McHenry drove one in.
Kassidy Canfield had the other Lady Eagle hit, while Denney, Keeley Flynn and Paige Smith each scored a run.
