SOFTBALL: IZZY HOBART BELTS A HOMER, MOUNTAIN VIEW LOSES IN WALK OFF TO CARBONDALE (2025-04-30)

CARBONDALE - Mountain View fell victim to the walk off Wednesday evening as Carbondale pushed the winning run home in the bottom of the seventh. The Lady Eagles lost 6-5 despite out hitting the Chargerettes seven to two.
Carbondale broke a 3-3 tie with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth. The two teams traded runs in the sixth inning to make it a 5-3 game heading to the seventh inning.
Mountain View got a one out base runner when Paige Smith reached on an error, she later scored on a passed ball.
Mimi Sedlak cracked a two out double to put the tying run in scoring position. Izzy Hobart followed with a clutch game tying double to score Sedlak.
Carbondale would use a one out single and a pair of walks to load the bases in the bottom of the seventh and eventually push the winning run across with a sacrifice fly to get the 6-5 walk off victory.
Christina Denney went the distance in the circle for Mountain View. She allowed six runs - two earned on two hits and seven walks, while striking out seven.
Hobart (3-4) had a strong day at the plate, belting a homer and a double, to go with three RBI and a run scored.
Sedlak (2-4) also had a double and scored a pair of runs, while Coralynn Henry (1-3) had a double of her own. Smith (1-4) scored a pair of runs.
