HALSTEAD - Blue Ridge used timely hitting and solid pitching from Hailey Carpenetti and Trista Laude as the duo combined for the shutout in their 4-0 victory over Lackawanna Trail Wednesday evening.

Carpenetti was in the circle for the first three and two thirds. She allowed just one hit and four walks, while striking out seven.

Laude worked the final three and a third innings to earn the win. She gave up a hit, three walks and struck out a pair.

With the game still scoreless entering the bottom of the fourth, Carpenetti led it off with a single. Mel Bloomer followed with a double to scoring Carpenetti.

Courtesy runner E. Piechocki scored on a bunt from Liberty Post to make it 2-0 after four innings.

Cheyanne Kuiper reached on an error to start the bottom of the fifth and later scored on a passed ball.

Bloomer drove home Carpenetti who reached via the walk with a single to extend the Lady Raiders lead to four.

Laude shut down the Lady Lions in the sixth and seventh to secure the 4-0 shutout victory for Blue Ridge.

Bloomer had a pair of hits including a double and two runs driven in. Carpenetti singled and scored twice.

Abby Piechocki had a double for the only other Lady Raider hit. Post drove in a run and Kuiper scored one.
