BASEBALL: CJ McGEE & HUDSON AUKEMA ONE HIT BLUE RIDGE AS MONTROSE WINS 6-1 (2025-04-28)

MONTROSE - Montrose got another quality start from Cj McGee and three shutdown innings from Hudson Aukema as the duo combined to one hit Blue Ridge. McGee also had a pair of hits to lead the Meteors to the 6-1 victory.
The Meteors got on the board first as Kasey Carey ripped a one out triple and later scored on a single by Aukema to make it 1-0.
Lukas Cokely would then score on an error ofF the bat of McGee and Aukema scored on a wild pitch as the Meteors led it 3-0 after one inning.
McGee worked around a two out single, striking out the side in the second inning.
Montrose added another run in the second as Lincoln Brander drew a one out walk and eventually scored on a double by Sorensen.
The Raiders used a walk, an error and a fielder's choice to push across a run in the top of the third to cut the Meteors lead to three.
The Meteors would answer with a pair of runs as McGee and Alex Stoddard each connected for one out singles and scored on an error ofF the bat of Chase Harman, making it 6-1.
They would prove to be the final runs of the game as Montrose wins at home over Blue Ridge 6-1.
McGee tossed 66 pitches in four innings, striking out nine. He allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk.
Aukema was un-hittable in his three innings of relief, striking out six and walking one.
McGee (2-3) had a multi hit game, to go with a run scored and a RBI. Aukema (1-3) drove in a run and scored once.
Sorensen (1-4) had a double and drove in a run, while Carey (1-4) had a triple and scored a run. Cokely (1-3) and Stoddard (1-3) and Brander each scored a run.
Brendan Marvin pitched four and two thirds, striking out nine. He allowed six runs - two earned on seven hits and a walk.
Travis Rutter worked the final inning and a third, allowing just a walk.
Derrick had the only hit for the Raiders, as Brayden Smith drove in a run and Andrew Kowalewski scored a run.
