TRACK & FIELD: JONES, FREY, DIAZ & DALTON STRIKE GOLD IN 4X100 RELAY AT LASAGNA INVITATIONAL (2025-04-25)

WYALUSING - Montrose had the strongest showing of the teams in the Susco coverage area as the girls took home ninth overall and the boys were 13th at the well attended Lasagna Invitational at Wyalusing, featuring 27 teams and over 800 athletes.
Sadie Jones had a great day in both the track and field events. Jones took home a bronze in the javelin with a throw of 112 feet 10 inches.
She then captured fourth in the 200 meter dash, finishing less than a second behind the first place finisher, with a time of 27.38 seconds. Gracie Dalton took 10th place in 28.16 seconds.
Jones then teamed up with Carly Frey, Avery Diaz and Dalton to capture a gold medal in the 4x100 Meter Relay, crushing the competition with a time of 51.39 seconds.
The Lady Meteors 4X400 Relay team came in seventh place with a time of four minutes 23.30 seconds. The foursome consisted of Avery Kerr, Dalton, Molly Weller and Frey.
Frey(1:04.11) and Kerr (1:04.79) finished sixth and seventh respectively in the 400 Meter Dash. Kerr (2:29.52) also finished 10th in the 800 Meter Run.
The Lady Meteor freshman duo of Anna Tillotson (31-9.5) and June McGee (29-10.5) took seventh and ninth place in the shot put.
On the boys side the Meteors performed well also, sophomore Maximus Kuwaye was the highest individual place winner for the Meteors, placing third in the long jump at 19 feet 9.5 inches.
The Montrose 4x100 Meter Relay team also took home a bronze medal, finishing just a whisker behind the first and second place teams at 45.40 seconds. The quartet is made up of Nico Christian, Jamie Robinson, Julio Sena-Clavijo and Kuwaye.
Kuwaye (11.36) and Robinson (11.58) took fifth and ninth place in the 100 Meter Dash. N. Christian placed fourth in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 24.06 seconds.
Lorenzo Christian (4:40.28) and Jamison Myers (4:40.94) finished in eighth and ninth place respectively in the 1600 Meter Run. L. Christian (10:10.19) also took eighth on the 3200 Meter Run.
Sena-Clavjo brought home eighth place in the javelin with a throw of 112 feet six inches.
The 4x400 Meter and 4x800 Meter Relay teams each finished in tenth place with times of 4:11.53 and 8:56.87 respectively.
The quartet for the 4X800 was L. Christian, Malachi Baier, Myers and N. Christian.
