SOFTBALL: CARBONDALE USES BIG THIRD INNING TO DOWN MOUNTAIN VIEW 7-3 (2025-04-24)

KINGSLEY - Carbondale used a five run third inning to defeat Mountain View 7-3 Thursday evening. Keeley Flynn and Mimi Sedlak each notched multi hit games to lead the Lady Eagles nine hit attack.
The game was scoreless until the third inning when Carbondale used three hits a walk and a Mountain View error to score five runs.
The Chargerettes plated another run in the top of the fifth to make it 6-0.
Mountain View got on the board in the bottom of the fifth as Aubrey Sanders led off with a single. Flynn and Sedlak followed with back to back one out singles to get Sanders home.
Carbondale answered with three singles of their own in the top of the sixth to get that run back and take a 7-1 lead.
Mountain View had their best offensive inning in the seventh. Christina Denney smacked a one out triple, then scored on a Flynn double.
Sedlak and Kassidy Canfield followed with singles to load the bases. Flynn scored on a passed ball, before Carbondale pitcher Alyssa Lewis fanned the final batter of the game to secure the 7-3 victory.
Sedlak and Flynn each had a pair of hits, Flynn doubled, scored once and drove in a run.
Denney had a triple and scored a run, while Sanders singled and scored a run. Paige Smith, Canfield and Ava Piasecki also had hits for the Lady Eagles.
Denney went the distance in the circle, striking out 13. She allowed seven runs - five earned on 10 hits and three walks.
