COVINGTON TWP - Kendel Jones had an impressive showing at the Walter J. Godek Invitational Thursday night. The Elk Lake junior claimed a pair of gold medals as the Warriors had a trio of runners place well in the distance events.

Jones and Cody Adams proved to be a dynamic duo for the Warriors. Jones captured his first gold medal in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:27.85, Adams was 4.54 seconds behind in third.

The duo took home the top two spots in the 3200 meter run, with Jones crossing the line first at 9:49.45. Adams finished in 9:53.75 to take home the silver medal.

Elk Lake sophomore Parker Upright returned from injury and made an immediate impact, bringing home a fifth place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:01.39.

Whalen Kinney took home 15th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.03 to round out the Warriors placing in the top 15 at the 27 team invitational.
