SOFTBALL: MOUNTAIN VIEW FALLS TO FOREST CITY 10-5 (2025-04-14)

FOREST CITY - The Lady Eagles scored the first run of the game, before Forest City put 10 unanswered runs on the board. Mountain View added four runs in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as they fell 10-5 to the Lady Foresters Monday evening.
Keeley Flynn gave Mountain View a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, driving Emma Thatcher in with a groundout to first base.
Forest City put the first two runners on to start the bottom half of the inning. Christina Denney got two quick groundouts as she looked to wiggle out of trouble.
However the Lady Foresters pounded out four straight two out hits, plating four runs in the process to take the 4-1 lead.
Forest City took advantage of three walks to score three more runs in the bottom of the fourth, taking a six run lead with three innings to play.
The Foresters used a pair of singles and trio of walks, pushing three more runs across the plate to put the game out of reach.
The Lady Eagles did their best to claw back in the final inning. Flynn, Denney and Addison Kilmer hit three consecutive one out singles, with Flynn scoring on Kilmer's single.
Sedlak got Denney home with a groundout to the shortstop. Paige Smith plated Kilmer with a single, then later scored on Thatcher's double.
However Claire Lombardi induced a game ending fly out to center field as the Lady Foresters notched the 10-5 victory.
Kilmer had three hits to led the Lady Eagles eight hit attack. Smith collected a pair of hits, while Denney, Thatcher and Flynn each had a hit.
Kilmer, Sedlak, Smith, Thatcher and Flynn each drove in a run, while Denney, Kilmer, Smith Thatcher and Flynn each scored a run.
Denney started in the circle, striking out three in her six innings of work. She gave up 10 runs - eight earned on nine hits and eight walks.
