BASEBALL: MCMICKEN CRACKS A PAIR OF HOMERS & GETS WIN ON MOUND AS WARRIORS DOWN EAGLES (2025-04-04)

KINGSLEY - Braydon McMicken had himself a game Friday evening against Mountain View. The Elk Lake senior hit a pair of home runs, finishing a triple shy of the cycle with four hits. He also pitched five innings on the bump to get the win as the Warriors rolled 13-1 over the Eagles.

McMicken and Alden Felker each singled in the first, before Noah Gesford doubled to score McMicken. Felker and Gesford would score on an Ayotte single to make it 3-0.

The Eagles got one back in the bottom of the first, Miller hit a one out single. After an error and a walk loaded the bases, McMicken plunked Hudson Bain to force home Mountain View's only run of the game.

McMicken hit a one out solo homer to center in the second. Miller, Felker, Gesford and Dawson Sherman followed with four straight hits as the Warriors took a 6-1 lead.

Elk Lake tacked two more runs on in the fourth on a Cohen Orlandini single to make it 8-1.

McMicken worked around a two out hit and an error to escape damage in the bottom of the fourth. He would then hit his second solo homer of the night to leadoff the fifth.

They would add another run in the sixth when Sherman scored on Orlandini's sacrifice fly as the lead swelled to 10-1.

Gesford worked a perfect sixth inning on the mound in relief, striking out a batter. 

In the top of the seventh McMicken and Gesford each hit a double, and Miller singled. Sherman drove a run in with a sacrifice fly as the Warriors plated three runs in the frame.

Sherman struck out a pair working a perfect seventh inning to preserve the 13-1 victory for Elk Lake.

McMicken pitched well, throwing 91 pitches over five innings. He gave up an unearned run on four hits, four walks and six strikeouts to get the win.

Jordan Jagger got the loss, going three innings. He gave up eight runs on 11 hits, with four walks and four strikeouts.

Bain pitched the final four innings for Mountain View. He allowed five runs of five hits, with a pair of walks and two strikeouts.

The Warriors collected 16 hits in the game, McMicken had four. Gesford and Felker each had three hits. Gesford had a pair of doubles, Felker had one.

Miller and Ayotte each had two hits, while Sherman and Orlandini each had a single.

Gesford drove in a team high four runs, McMicken, Ayotte and Orlandini each drove in a pair. Felker and Sherman drove in a run apiece.

McMicken scored a team best four runs, Miller and Sherman each scored a pair. While Gesford and Ayotte each scored a run.

Jagger, Ziggy Bradford, Josh Miller and Aiden McCloskey each had a hit for the Eagles. Bain had the lone run driven in, while Miller scored the only run.
