SOFTBALL: SUSQUEHANNA FALLS AT TOWANDA (2025-03-28)

SusCo Sports Report
TOWANDA - A big second inning doomed the Lady Sabers Friday evening as the Lady Black Knights of Towanda tallied eight runs in the home half of the second on their way to the 10-0 mercy rule victory.

Towanda's TaeLynn Brabant strike out Susquehanna in order to start the game. She then drove in the first run of the contest on a sac fly in the bottom half of the first.

After the Lady Sabers went down in order again in the second inning, Towanda started their half with four consecutive hits, eventually plating eight runs to take a 9-0 lead.

C. Warner got the first Susquehanna hit in the third, but she was caught attempting to steal second base for the final out of the inning.

Lauren Huyck sat the Lady Knights down in order in the bottom of the third. She drew a leadoff walk to start the fourth, but she was erased attempting to steal second.

In the bottom half of the fourth Huyck worked around three doubles, surrounding only a run, after an outfield assist cut a run down at the plate.

Down 10-0 Susquehanna would need to score one in the top of the fifth to stay alive. They got the leadoff runner on, but Leila Cobb fanned the next three Lady Sabers to end the game.

Warner had the only hit of the ball game for Susquehanna. Huyck and M Parry each reached base one time.

Huyck pitched all four innings in the circle for the Lady Sabers. She gave up 10 runs - 6 earned on 13 hits, while striking out four.

Susquehanna will play another NTL foe on Monday when they travel to Northeast Bradford to take on the Lady Panthers, first pitch slated for 4:30.
