COLLEGE BASEBALL: MTN VIEW GRAD BRONSON KILMER & MONTROSE GRAD LEVI SMITH HAVE SOLID WEEKS FOR PENN STATE SCRANTON (2025-03-09)

DUNMORE - A pair of local graduates have been competing on the diamond for Penn State Scranton. Mountain View's Bronson Kilmer has logged some solid innings on the mound and Levi Smith has seen action at second base.
Most recently playing a trio of doubleheaders at beautiful Shautz Stadium. First was a twin bill with Kings on March 4, then a pair of doubleheaders with Keuka College on March 7 and 8.
Kilmer pitched lights out in relief against Kings, pitching 3.2 innings, tossing 70 pitches allowing zero earned runs on two hits and two walks, while fanning five batters.
Smith got the start at second base but was hitless in three at bats. As Penn State Scranton dropped the second game of the doubleheader 8-2 to finish the day 1-1.
Smith appeared in two of the four games against Keuka College, reaching base three times and driving in a run on March 7, helping his team earn the 10-8 victory over the Wolves.
On March 8, Smith got the start but was hitless in three trips to the plate as Keuka picked up the 5-0 shutout victory.
Kilmer started the nightcap, however got little help from his defense allowing four runs, all of which were unearned as Penn State Scranton committed five errors in the contest losing 8-7.
Kilmer finished with a line of three innings pitched, zero earned runs, two hits, three strikeouts and three walks.
Penn State Scranton is 4-4 on the season. Smith has played in four games and has a .286 batting average to go with an on base percentage of .615. The freshman has a pair of RBI's and three runs scored.
Kilmer has an ERA of 0.00 in 7.2 innings so far in his freshman campaign. He has given up four hits, striking out twice as many as he's walked with 10 K's and just five walks.
