COLLEGE BASEBALL: MOUNTAIN VIEW GRAD RILEY JAGGER NOTCHES FIRST COLLEGE WIN ON THE BUMP FOR WILKES (2025-03-09)

FLORIDA - Riley Jagger a Mountain View graduate and freshman on the Wilkes University baseball team, pitched in the final game of the Colonels spring training trip in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Jagger got the start and notched his first career win on the bump at the collegiate level, turning in a solid performance against Norwich University on March 6.

The freshman gave up an unearned run in the top of the first, but his offense responded with three runs in the home half of the inning.

Pitching with lead, Jagger pitched to contact and allowed his defense to do the work. The Colonels defense recorded 12 of the 15 outs behind their pitcher in his five innings of work.

Jagger finished with a quality start, throwing 75 pitches in five innings of work. Surrendering just an unearned run, two hits and a pair of walks. Retiring 15 of the 18 batters he faced with three coming via the strikeout.

Exiting the game with a 5-1 lead, Wilkes would go on to win the game by a final score of 7-3, preserving the win for Jagger.

The Hop Bottom native has appeared in three games for the Colonels to date. Totaling nine innings, allowing 12 baserunners on five hits and six walks and a hit batter. He has struck out four and has an ERA of 3.00.
